Not too long ago I found myself in a very similar situation. I had been a stay at home mom for roughly a decade and my youngest kids, (twins) had gone off to school leaving me wondering what life had in store for me next.
I had tried a few things in the past without much real traction, partly because I wasn't truly ready, and also I wasn't really sure what it was that I wanted, not to mention I had a serious confidence problem.
Staying at home for long periods of time can do that to you sometimes. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE MY KIDS, and being at home with them for all those little beautiful moments was the best thing that I could have done for them, and for myself.
But when it came time for them to head off to school and start their journey's out into the world, I began to wonder about my own.
For some of you, you are still in that beautiful stage where your babies are home for midday snuggles and pillow forts, and would like to help support your family out of desire or necessity but don't want to miss out on this precious time.
For others, you've experienced those moments in all of their glory and now you are moving into your next stage... the one where I found myself, the rediscovery phase. Who am I now that my kids have gone off to school? What do I want? And what do I have to offer this world? Where do I even start?
For me, I knew that I still wanted to be at home for my family whenever they needed me. The sick calls, the Spring and Summer breaks, the early release days and the school events. I didn't want to have to ask permission to spend time with my kids or be there for them on special days.
I wanted to create something of my own, that I could do on my terms, that gave me purpose and helped provide my family with the life they deserve.
Entrepreneurship was that answer for me, specifically online income.
Now I know, that can seem like a big scary word, especially if you've never done it before and you have no idea where to start.
However, it is really quite simple when you break it down into small easy steps. When it comes down to it, being an entrepreneur just means that you get to be your own boss. You get to choose what you want to do, what's right for you and your family, and change things up when you find you like one thing more than another.
